Call for Papers

1st Annual National, International and Universal Conference on All-Inclusive Design (CLUDE2007)

Motto: »All-include, Dude.«
Date: Friday, 13 April 2007
Venue: »Heidi’s Beer Hut«, Palma de Mallorca, Spain

---
Overview
Forget about Inclusive Design, here comes All-Inclusive Design! During the past few years, industrial design, graphic design, environmental design, fashion design, architecture design, hair design, intelligent design and similar disciplines ending or beginning with “design” have, in addition to flooding the planet with superfluous knick-knacks and uncomfortable seating, realised that much more money can be made by including those who are usually marginalised by society. Twenty-first century design thus rejects, nay, it rids society of the shackles of a twentieth century elitism that privileged those who, thanks to rich uncles and the like, had access to professional education, and furthermore those who were just included by means of Inclusive Design! Indeed, this type of all-inclusive design proposes not only to incorporate all kinds of consumers and creators (whether they are talented or not), but also that which is created. In other words: it is time to consider a chair's/car's/Chanel costume's perspective! The methodology endorsed focuses on experiences and discourses drawn from the field of all-inclusiveness, i.e. hallucinations fostered by extensive consumption of beer, pool-side animation, straw-hat structural analysis and a discussion of gender, class and wet t-shirt contests.

---
Possible topics and areas may include but are not limited to the following:
- Gender and Non-/Post-/Anti-Gender
- The Past, the Present and the Future
- Culture (in every aspect)
- Important and unimportant stuff
- The Universe (incl. alien life forms)

Deadlines
Abstract deadline: Friday, 13 April 2007
The acceptance or rejection of abstracts will take place on the same day, just in time for afternoon tea. You will then write the actual conference paper on the spot, and we will watch, guide and correct you.

----
Submission guidelines
Abstracts of text-based paper and imaginative bribes will be sent to two referees for blind reviews (i.e. random selection out of a giant paper box). Abstracts should be 1-300 words long, not counting ands, ifs or buts. Final papers should be exactly 777 words long, and formatted in 12 pt Times New Roman, double-spaced with a 4 cm margin on the left side, meaningful clip art placed throughout the text. Footnotes should be used extensively, if you don’t have enough, please invent some. Include a 3000-word bio, detailing childhood traumata (school bullies, etc.) and embarrassing anecdotes while going through puberty, plus your favourite bands and stories about pesky neighbours. Do not forget to list all pets you have ever possessed (names, acquisition and death dates, reasons for death).
