My favourite colour: pink

The newest fad in editorial circles now seems to be the replacement of epigraphs or captions with snippets of song lyrics, so instead of getting at least a hint as to what to make of the fuzzy photograph or smeary, though elaborate, illustration, you find yourself thinking: "I know those lyrics from somewhere... hmm..." In the best case then, you will remember long-lost songs you loved, in the worst, you will remember... the 80s!

Then there is that annoying habit of certain individuals to add a epigraph to their email (due to its location at the end of the email, maybe this requires a renaming). Problem is, the quote seldom really fits or supports the content of the email, so sometimes it's better to just ignore both. Anyway, they remind me of so-called "My friends from school" books, in which you would let all your friends state their favourite food and books and sportsmen, and in addition they would have to write down their "life motto", which was usually some tired old saying like "carpe diem" (we had just learned Latin). So in remembrance, a wonderful page with ladybugs from my old book follows:

(Place for picture, and then: birthday, star sign, place of birth, height, eye colour, permanent marks... almost like on the application for a passport... creepy!, name, address, telephone, my favourite colour, my favourite animal, my favourite meal, my favourite author, my favourite books). Gasp! And all this before MySpace!
